Yearbook is much more than taking pictures and slapping pictures into a template layout - it's about perception, depth, content, and marketing your product! In my Yearbook class, students will learn about composition, grammar, graphic design, photographic art, and marketing. They will get out to survey the student body's interests in what things to include in their yearbook while taking photographs to memorialize their high school experiences. By donating to this project, my students will get the opportunity to turn a class period into a marketing and design adventure meant to capture their high school experiences, and the entire student body will get a product they can look back on proudly for years to come. My students currently use their cell phones for their student life and sports pictures. The last camera purchased for the program was years ago, and while cell phones can do fine, the opportunity to turn their yearbook into a professional-quality publication by using professional-grade brands and equipment can create excitement and desire for a top-tier product.
