My students need movement opportunities and sensory input as they are learning in our classroom. Floor Cushions, Donut Balls, and Lap Desks, rather than traditional classroom desks and chairs, for example, will give students the sensory input they need and help children better develop their core body strength. My goal in implementing Flexible Seating in my classroom is to have students who can focus more easily, become more engaged, and develop and even greater motivation to learn. Having these choices will benefit my students by improving their ability to learn in the best way possible. Tailoring students' learning experiences to their individual needs is one of the easiest and most effective ways to help support and promote student success. Part of ensuring student success involves creating a comfortable, professional, and functional learning environment where ALL students can learn and thrive. I want to provide every student in my classroom a safe and comfortable environment where they are free to be kids, free to move, and free to learn in a way that best meets their individual needs.
