My students are extremely tech savvy. They are interested in technology based instruction that allows them to be competitive and instruction that provides instant feedback. The students are interested in private lessons in voice, piano and guitar. Students are very ambitious especially in performing a wide variety of music. Students are interested in classes such as piano, guitar, music technology, songwriting, and a Cappella ensembles. The school is a Title I school in a public school district. Before I arrived in 2012, there has not been a chorus/music teacher in the building for almost 5 years. Since the program has not been active for that long period of time, the program lacks specifics needed to make the program more functioning. The Fine Arts Program lacks adequate practice rooms, computers, storage, instruments, supplies, music, music technology software, Promethean boards and projectors, and uniforms.
