Students deserve to have a wide variety of books to read. When students have access to books that they like to read, they learn to begin to love to read. They begin to read by reading a book they like. When there are more options, students will take the chance to read a new book and branch out to new genres. I have noticed that the larger my classroom library is, the more my students take advantage of reading a new book. I want my students to know the joy of reading. Not all students are able to have a variety of books to read at home or go the library. They could go to the school library, but that doesn't always have a variety of only their reading level books. Reading is an important skill to have. If students learn to love reading now, they will love it for the rest of their lives.
