One of the biggest struggles for teachers today is keeping students engaged in learning. Teachers fight against social media, peer pressure, and family struggles to keep students focused on their education. Currently, if I want to use technology in the class, I have to ask students to use their own phones and I am limited to whether or not a student has one. I have no way of monitoring whether they are texting their friends or staying on task. Students will use Fire tables to review reading concepts and strategies, create videos to demonstrate their learning, and increase their desire to learn by putting technology in their hands they may not otherwise have access to.
How can we equip students to be successful in a technologically advanced world, if we don't give them the technology to learn with? By providing students with Fire 7's you will help me guarantee my students have the skills necessary to be productive members of society later in life. By providing technology to students, I will be able to focus that technology in a productive way. I will not have to worry about whether or not a student has a phone they can use to play Kahoot! I will not have to worry about whether or not they are texting someone or checking their social media instead of doing what they are supposed to be doing. By providing students with Fire 7's, I am free to focus on the student learning rather than simply monitoring their behavior.
