The students in my class love reading every day, and they currently do not have a comfortable space to do that. Because we are in a portable, we do not have a rug or carpet for the students to sit on as they are doing their individual reading, nor do they have the flexible seating to relax. With the rug and the bean bag chairs, the students will feel more at home and have a space that they feel like is their own.
Giving low-income students access to a comfortable and friendly space will make them feel more like they're at home, and eager to spend more time doing what they love.
