I read aloud to my class on a daily basis. This project will provide my classroom with multiple copies of the books I read each year. This project allows the students to follow along as I read. Students will see new vocabulary, become aware of how a fluent reader sounds and how important it is to read with expression. Students are more engaged when they have their own copy of the book.
Reading aloud to children from birth through high school allows them to build vocabulary, improves comprehension and listening skills, provides modeling for how language sounds, and introduces different genres.
