It is an honor and a joy to teach two amazing cohort programs at Taft High School. I currently teach juniors in the AVID program, which is a program for students in the academic middle who have aspirations of attending a 4 year university upon graduation. These students are some of the most driven and goal-oriented students I have ever met! They challenge themselves by taking AP courses. We are currently prepping for the SAT through independent reading and test prep strategies. I also teach students in the IB Diploma Programme. I instruct Theory of Knowledge and I am one of the Extended Essay coordinators. The extended essay is a 4,000 word monster of an essay that takes the students two years to write. The students work feverishly to achieve the highest marks, and always give 110% in everything they do. These classrooms are like-minded: all of my students are passionate about being the best and creating change.
