Many of my students are struggling readers, through book clubs this year, I have had many students become excited about reading. I have had several who have never finished an independent book tell me they can't put the book down, "It's so good!"
My students are flying through Jenny Han's Summer Series and are anxious about the next two books in the trilogy. Please help us acquire these for the classroom so they can continue reading and discussing the books!
We have been using the book clubs to encourage the students to read independently. While they are reading these they are encouraged to read aloud, which helps their fluency. They are then having discussions each day over what they have read, why it matters and how they can make connections to their own lives through books.
