My second graders love school and love to learn! They are a diverse group of hardworking kids, more than 3/4 of which come from low-income homes and more than 1/2 of which are learning to speak English. They have inquisitive minds and want to learn everything they can! Many of my students are below grade-level, but we are working hard and fast in innovative ways to help them not only catch-up, but excel. Our Title I public school recently added an Arts program, that provides both Visual Art and Music to each student on a daily basis. In addition, all teachers in the building are currently enrolled in the Arts Integration Endorsement program offered through a local university. We are excited to be working towards concrete, hands-on opportunities for learning across the curriculum, with the Arts integrated into our lessons to enrich student understanding. We are learning and growing at an incredible pace!
