Our multi-age classroom includes 23 six, seven, and eight year olds from 3 different continents who speak 3 different languages. They enjoy working, talking, reading, playing, laughing, creating, and most of all learning. Science is their favorite subject, and they learn eagerly. We live in a rural small town, but few of our students live on or near farms. Our kids don't learn the magic of life cycles that used to be in all students' backyards. We've found that bringing opportunities into the classroom is a good way to expand their world and help them learn up close what videos and the Internet can't teach. Our class makes excellent teachers, and they love sharing what they've learned with others.
