These tools help my students access grade level curriculum through differentiation of work and use of materials.
The calming tools help students with social emotional challenges calm down and return to class without their behaviors escalating to unsafe behaviors. Students need things like weighted blankets, headphones and lap pads to help them regulate their behaviors and emotions. This helps them spend more time learning in the classroom.
The social emotional tools are an important part of my students being able to sustain safe behaviors in their general education classroom and be able to stay in school to get their academic instruction.
