The books I chose for my students, are filled with vibrant images and fun characters. Some of the books, such as the Barefoot Book and CD Set, are accompanied by music and lyrics. These images and lyrics will aid my young students in accessing language. Touching pictures and matching images is how my students interact with books! I will adapt the books by creating visual icons that the students can match to the pictures found in the stories. This activity allows my little ones to gain confidence by engaging with the material and demonstrating their knowledge. I know this access will eventually lead to their language acquisition.
