I am the head athletic trainer at Crystal City High School in Crystal City, TX. With a high school enrollment of about 550, we are classified as a small 4A school with a high percentage of low-income families. As an athletic trainer, I am responsible for the health and well-being of all of the student-athletes within my school district (~300 students). Among my duties are the prevention, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. My classroom setting varies from season to season as the school year progresses and can be anything from a football stadium to a weight room to a tennis court. At any given time, I can be found administering treatment or rehabilitating my students' athletic injuries.
