I believe my students can accomplish anything if they set their mind to it and by the end of the year I truly believe that they will be avid readers in and out of the classroom. My objective is to create a classroom to stimulate, engage, and promote the development of all my students literacy skills regardless of their social and economic background. My school is a Title 1 campus which validates that many of my students are already challenged with obstacles that hinder their literacy advancement outside the classroom. The student body at my school consists of approximately 93% Economically Disadvantage students, 50% English Language learners, and 76% At-Risk students. Many of my students are excited to learn new things and I see potential in my students as they aspire to gain understanding of the literary world around them; therefore literacy supplemental resources is a vital factor for their academic success.
