A whole group meeting place is an essential part of a kindergarten classroom. We need a space that is clearly defined and big enough to fit all of us. It will be used all day, every day, this year, and many more to come. This rug will be the heart of our kindergarten classroom where we will meet several times a day to listen, learn, discuss, and discover. The oval shape lends itself not only to the typical whole class instruction but more importantly whole group circle discussions where we all can share ideas or strategies and grow together as a classroom community.
