This year, students and teachers have been thrown in a loop to go from teaching to a classroom filled with students to a Zoom session on a laptop. Although we can reach more students this way, it can be difficult for some of these students to fully understand the math learning virtually.
A common problem we've all found is writing on our laptop trackpads.
Our math curriculum asks for students to show their understanding through diagrams, such as number lines, tape diagrams, and tables. When we are drawing on our trackpads, it can be difficult for students to draw these accurately for others to understand. These diagrams must be accurate so that students get the answer. By providing students with wired mice and the teacher with a drawing tablet, our math will become more accurate, visible and legible for all to see.
