My students attend an urban, inner city school in Connecticut. The majority qualify for free and reduced lunch. In order for my students to have a well-rounded education, the arts are an integral part. By practicing visual art, it has been shown that students can improve concentration and focus in other academic areas. Students who often struggle with other aspects of school find a refuge in making and creating art.
