The Whisper Phones and Listening Station materials will help my students greatly in their reading endeavors. With a large class, being able to read a book to their selves can be challenging, the Whisper Phones will help my students be able to hear themselves read, and possibly correct any errors they make. They get excited to read, which you can hear in their voice, this will allow their excitement to continue and allow the student next to them to focus as well.
By hearing fluent readers through the books on CD, my students will get to hear a more diverse set of readers and hear what it sounds like to be a fluent reader. They hear me read all of time, and this gives them another opportunity to hear others fluently. By having many examples of readers, students can begin to gain confidence in their reading, even if they don't sound just like me.
