Nelson Mandela said "education is the most powerful weapon which can change the world."
As many teachers would probably attest, I entered the field to make a difference in the lives of young people. As an 8th grade teacher, I've encountered young adults of all walks of life. From those who want to learn, to those who don't. From those who come from privileged families, to those who wear the same clothes every day.
Education is the great equalizer. It gives every student a chance to be what they want to be, to do what they want to do, and in the words of Walt Disney: "to pursue their dreams."
Thank you for being an active member of the community that makes education possible and for helping our young people of today realize their dreams of tomorrow.
