C - O -V - I - D for Kids C......Centers O.......Offer V.......AdVentures In D........Development Enhanced by the COVID-19 Pandemic, my students lack crucial skills vital to their foundational thinking and social-emotional development. These chosen items will provide fresh, new, hands-on experiences to help close the learning gaps for my kids. These hands-on activities will stimulate each child to be engaged in the learning process, allowing them to explore, interact, and enhance their real-life problem-solving skills at their own pace. Daily usage of these hands-on centers encourages the students to achieve their executive functioning higher-level cognition skills, including problem-solving, time management, flexibility, and increased attention skills. In addition, kids who acquire these skills develop positive social-emotional skills and display better overall impulse control and better classroom behavior. Sanitizing, cleanliness and centers' overall organization are priorities in my classroom. The chosen storage shelf will benefit my students and staff by ensuring the practice of organized, prior sanitation, controlled disbursement, and housing of center items used regularly.
