This project will allow us to create individual take-home science kits complete with everything students will need to do week-long investigations at home. The kits will be in storage bags and include: Kindergarten, Forces of Motion, create push and pull boats: pool noodles, string, colored paper, masking tape Grade 1: Sound & Waves, create and compare a variety of sound effects, rulers, cellophane wrap, straws, string, rice, rubber bands, cardboard takeout container, masking tape Grade 2: Classification & Testing Materials, test materials, create a sun hat and a backscratcher: paper plates, aluminum foil, paper bag, paper towels, masking tape, cups, spoons, paper clips, clothes pins, binder clips, forks, craft sticks, Play Doh, coffee stirrers, twine Grade 3: Life Cycles of Plants & Adaptation, create three different kinds of seeds: paper clips, binder clips, masking tape, twine, black construction paper Grade 4: Life Cycles of Animals & Adaptation, create a robot fingers on a hand, create a model eye: paper clips, twine, dot stickers, index cards, magnifier lens Students will take home the activities during their hybrid week and complete the lessons during their remote learning week.
