I teach special education to students in grades 6-8. They are amazing and challenge me to be a better teacher every day!
Throughout the day, I teach math and academic strategies. We are focused first and foremost on being inclusive - the school wide focus on Everyone Belongs is the theme for our year. Building community and making sure that every student knows they they are smart, wanted, and welcome in the room and the school is the foundation for all learning.
On a daily basis we push each other to think about our thinking and to understand what it means to be a socially responsible citizen and lifelong learner. We also laugh and enjoy ourselves. Middle school is a hard time and our room is place to be yourself.
