My class consists of 27 English Language Learners. They include refugees and immigrants from all parts of the world, such as Somalia, Tonga, Iraq, Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. We have seven different languages spoken in the room. They all work tirelessly to strengthen their English skills and make adequate yearly progress. The school is located in a high poverty area south of Seattle. All of the students in my class qualify for free and reduced lunch.
