Welcome to Cafe Blue!
The students at Southside Occupational Academy are provided access to an individualized education that enables them to become effective citizens of their community and broader society. Along with academic courses, students are provided with an intensive vocational curriculum that equips them with a solid foundation of practical experience.
My classroom is known as Caf Blue and it is a fully functioning caf within the school where students work to serve their peers and teachers. Students receive training to perform the various job roles needed to operate a successful Cafe, including operating the espresso machine as baristas, training as food servers, cashiers, dishwashers, hosts, and waiters. The goal of our classroom is to help each student become as independent as possible and develop the skills needed to successful gain employment within their community upon graduation.
