This is a very small family oriented school district. It is a little gem of a neighborhood within a big city. We have the second highest concentration of English Language Learners in our state. The poverty level is very high and some students are homeless. Most walk to school each day. They live that close.
We are small so students are involved in several extra curricular activities. Our size means many students who might not take part in student government, plays, and sports in a large district are involved here. A teacher in our district knows whole families and all their cousin, aunts and uncles. Our students have a true school community.
