Bienvenido a los Estados Unidos de Amrica. Welcome to the United States of America. I am a librarian in a public school that serves kindergarten through fifth grade students. The school is located in a middle class neighborhood. A large percentage of our students come from a nearby lower income neighborhood. Close to half of our students qualify for a free or reduced lunch. Out of our 660 students, 135 are served through our bilingual program, and many others are served through our ESL (English as a Second Language) program.
