I am requesting funds to purchase new classroom furniture for my 3rd graders. The furniture we have is old and came with us into a new school a few years ago.
There wasn't enough money when our school was built, and hasn't been enough money yet, to purchase new classroom furniture for the students to have.
We need new chairs with the attachable baskets I'm requesting so students can store their materials. We have a limited amount of lockers and the ones we have are only guaranteed to 4th and 5th grade.
In addition to the chairs and baskets we need new tables that can be used for grouping. I the trapezoid tables can be arranged countless ways and take up much less room in a classroom than traditional desks and kidney tables. My students yearn to work in groups without all of their supplies getting in the way and to do so requires different furniture than we have now.
