Currently students have to put their items in a coat box. All of the students bags, coats, hats, and gloves are hanging on top of each other. As you can imagine, it becomes a giant mess in the winter. Last year it ended up as a pile of bags and coats on the floor near the coat box. This coming 2017-2018 year I will have even more students in my classroom all using the one coat box designed for at max 15 students.
These coat boxes will create a neat, clean, and orderly place for students to place their belongings during the school day. It will help detour any cross contamination from other students bags. It is easier for students to learn in an orderly room. A cubby system will also help me discreetly place weekend food bags into certain backpacks for the weekend. I make sure to place these items into students' bags so that the rest of the class are unaware.
