With these materials, my students will better grasp the understanding of life cycles, living things, and the world around them. Our classroom is broken up into centers; our science center consists various homemade materials. My students love the science center and love to explore the world around them; making connections to their everyday lives. With the Butterfly Nursery, students could watch first hand the transformation of caterpillars to butterflies and record their observations! Using the Life Cycle Theme Box and the Life Cycle Sequencing Kit, students will work in small groups and have the opportunity to work together to solve problems while learning about plant and animal life, build vocabulary, and to interact cooperatively with peers. It will significantly increase their love for science and exploration.
