Ben Franklin said, "Hide not your talents, for what is a sundial in the shade". In order to increase the talents and intelligence of my gifted students, I teach thematic units.
These units foster learning with real-world thinking skills of creativity, group dynamics, creative problem solving, research, and introspection. I am requesting several books and creative thinking resources that will enhance the units I'm teaching this year. I am requesting Frindle, a boxed set of Shakespeare stories, Number the Stars, an Egyptian Mythology book, and a cave book. I am also requesting rhyming dictionaries to help with writing poetry. I am requesting mindfulness and Sudoku activities to stretch my students' brains.
