My students come from various backgrounds, but reading isn't something they all love to do. The majority of my kids come from households with working parents where they are doing all they can in the short time period they get each evening. That's where I come in. I expect all of my students to read independently during our class time together. I know I can't control what happens once they leave me, so I do my best to help them "catch" the reading bug when we're together. In order to do that, I need books. My motto is, "I don't care what you're reading as long as you are reading." I strive to create lifelong readers.
