Bishop Woods School serves Kindergarten through 8th grade; I am the sole art teacher responsible for instruction across the entire school. As part of New Haven Public Schools, a Title I district, all students receive free breakfast and lunch. The student body is predominantly Black/African-American and Hispanic — groups historically underrepresented in the visual arts — so our program intentionally centers culturally relevant practices, representation, and access to high-quality art experiences for all learners.
