My student population is low-income/high poverty. My students have many challenges that they are faced with both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with an engaging and meaningful experience. My students are hard workers and have an eagerness to learn. Many of my students are being raised in a single-parent household. Based on their socioeconomic status, most of my students receive free lunch. These things may become stumbling blocks for them and possibly prevent them from what many of see as "typical" experiences. Despite the challenges, my goal is to prepare my students for the future ahead of them through rigor, relevance, and relationship.
