I selected these books because they teach lessons about being kind, fostering creativity, embracing differences, and building positive relationships. I also included Bouncy Chair Bands and the Portable Recliner Picnic Seats to help my budding readers remain focused and comfortable. These stories will spark meaningful classroom discussions that will help build character and classroom community. It is my hope that my students will see themselves in some of these stories and find ways to relate to the characters and, in turn, relate better with each other. These books will challenge them to consider, accept, and embrace different points of view.
