Science students learn more when they have opportunities for authentic experiences. When students have access to technology they can spend more time designing great experiments because they can capture data more quickly. We will use the chrome books along with probeware to collect data. We have Pasco probes that we can use to collect data but our department only has a few chrome books for 20 teachers. With chromebooks dedicated to our classroom we can collect data on long term experiments. When students ask questions about scientific phenomena, wouldn't it be awesome to say to them "that sounds like a great experiment, let's try it!" With the appropriate technology, opportunities for authentic experiences become easier because data can be collected easily and students can spend more time designing good experiments and interpreting their data.
