Donations to my project will help my students be and feel successful. While many students will be entering 3rd grade close to reading at the appropriate grade level, others will not be as fortunate. I have selected books at various reading levels and many popular titles that have an accompanying CD, so that students can listen to 3rd grade stories even though they may not be able to read these stories on their own. Giving my students access to higher texts will strengthen their word recognition, vocabulary skills, and increase their comprehension. When students have a passion for reading, this energy has a trickle effect in other academic areas.
