I split time between two low income schools providing services to 94 children in grades K-5 who need academic challenge, acceleration, and enrichment. While the majority of their classmates are at or below grade level, these students need opportunity to expand beyond typical Tier I instruction.
In spite of many of the obstacles they have faced in their short lives, they are bursting with potential that needs nurturing. I want to add tools to supplement literacy and STEM topics for our highest level learners. I want to expose them to literature that features complex characters that look like them and share their interests.
About my class
