My students are yearning to know more about issues related not only to our school and community, but nationally and globally as well. Their interest in current events, civics, history, and geography has led to many robust conversations and teachable moments in my classroom. In an effort to further engage my students, I am requesting a subscription to Junior Scholastic.
Junior Scholastic has been an excellent source of unbiased information that provides my students’ lives with stories that gives middle schoolers a deeper understanding of the world and their place in it.
The requested magazine, along with access to an online library of authentic texts, will transform my lessons in ways that will help to engage every learner. Some of my students are currently virtual and Junior Scholastic offers online access as well. The materials provided will offer content where my students can research fact-based information and support them in taking civic action in 2020. They will be able to participate in civil and informed discussions with their peers.
Thank you for your support in helping to make education a priority for my 6th grade students!
