I am a brand new teacher and am teaching at an awesome school with great staff in a great community! However, our school has very limited resources and many of the students come to school hungry, with little support at home, and with needs that go beyond the average student. When I received the keys to my classroom a few weeks ago, there were only a few tables and some very old curriculum inside.
After starting school this week, I am amazed at how bright and full of life my students are! They love to learn and are so excited to be at school. Located in a smaller city, the community in our classroom and school is very tight-knit and the students are at the heart of everything. They are great kids and deserve the best! As I come from a large city, it is heartbreaking to me that these kids are not being exposed to the same crucial technology that kids that live in larger cities and suburbs have access to.
