Most of my students have been told that they probably won't graduate high school. Despite this, most of our students do graduate high school and go on to lead their own lives.
Sometimes what my students need the most is to be able to visualize themselves graduating. My photography students take our students' Senior Photos on campus, which means that they are not given physical proofs of their photos because we don't have a printer that will print photos. Our student population is very poor. They can't always afford to go print their photos out, even at Walmart. They are given digital copies, but what they deserve are physical copies that they can hang up, admire, give out to others, and keep themselves motivated to be able to put that cap and gown on one more time and walk across the graduation stage.
