My students are 85% low income, second language learners who experience most of life from what they view online. In my fourth grade classroom in Anaheim, CA, I try to introduce my students to experiences through discovery and adventure in reading. These 10 year olds are eager and excited with every new experience I launch them into. My scholars are mostly below grade level and behind their peers in other areas simply because their families do not have the same resources or opportunities to experience field trips and other hands on experiences as the rest of Orange County, CA.
