Have you ever heard: "If you think you can or can't, you're right!" My goal is for all my students to leave kindergarten believing they "can." The majority of the children I serve are living at or near the national poverty line and are English language learners. I teach 29 students who come to school each day eager to learn, delighted to explore, and excited to be challenged. My students have diverse educational backgrounds ranging from preschool experience to having no knowledge of letters, sounds, numbers, or how to hold a pencil. The exponential growth that happens in kindergarten is the most amazing experience for students, parents, and of course me! By the end of the year, students have a new found sense of self-efficacy and can interact with their environment and world in a whole new way. And most importantly, an "I can" attitude. Thank you so much for considering funding my classroom.
