My students love to play games in class. We play academic board games, Kahoot, word sneak, and (my favorite)...pictionary! I've found games to be engaging and bonding for the students. It helps them feel valued and validated as an essential member of the classroom community.
Students engage in an exciting round of pictionary when they learn new vocabulary. They compete against other members of their group to determine who can identify the terms being drawn first. Each group has a white board to draw on, but I believe the game can be more exciting if the students are able to draw in color. I'm requesting packs of colored expo markers so each group will have the opportunity to make the game more enjoyable and enlightening.
