The three literacy game folders will be used to differentiate instruction for my students throughout the school year. The "Alphabet" folder will be used in the Fall trimester, the "Phonemic Awareness" folder will be used in the Winter trimester, and the "Word Work" folder will be used in the Spring trimester.
Games are a way for students to have fun while learning; at the same time they also remove some of the intimidation my students feel about learning to read. These game folders are unique because within each box, there are different games tailored to different levels of literacy knowledge. This is important to me as a teacher, because it allows me to provide fun, hands-on games to not just my high-performing students, but also my second language learners who are having a more difficult time learning foundational literacy skills.
