Albert Einstein said, "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." My students are inquisitive about many things: Why is Mount Everest so tall? How can music help the brain heal? How do electricity, magnetism, and circuits work to power technology? Through Problem Based Learning, my students use strategies and critical thinking to help answer their questions about the world that surrounds them. This skill is not only helpful in the classroom, but will help them become lifelong learners. Because my students are challenged with poverty, teaching them through problem based learning gives them opportunities they otherwise wouldn't have.
