Most of my students are English learners and half of the children in my class need anything I send home written in Spanish. When I ask my class what are some things that they would like to improve at our school they answer math and reading. When a typical fourth-grader would say, "we need more recess time and less homework." My students would say, "we need to spend more time in class learning." Only a handful of my students can get homework help at home. Their parents work late, and often can't help them with their homework because they don't understand it. Behavior is a big issue at our school and we are constantly trying to improve. My students are just like any typical 10-year-old they love Legos, Hello Kitty, Disney, and video games. Most of my students are Mexican-American. Their favorite thing to do at recesses play handball or soccer.
