I teach music to students in grades K-6 in a high poverty school district. As a former student of this district, I know how much the Fine Arts program has impacted my life and my career. Unfortunately, the instruments and materials that students are using have been around since before I was using them as a student. Our district sometimes receives donations, and there is a dedicated parent organization, but there is still not enough to meet the needs of our students. Despite the lack of instruments and supplies, students still love music. I regularly have students flock to me in the morning asking what they are going to learn in music. Please help me give them the opportunities other school districts can afford to give to their students.
