My students are young 5 year old Transitional Kindergarten students. They are in a new grade level in our state. These students are eager to learn as they are beginning school. Our school is a Title 1, program improvement school. Many of my students are English learners. Most of them are language impoverished, despite having English as their first language. Their vocabulary is minimal at best. They need broad and varied experiences with the language of mathematics and scientific exploration.
