My students are sixth graders at a Title 1 school. They’re loud, social, and not always interested in school. Many come from low-income homes and don’t bring supplies. Some are still learning English. Others struggle with focus, reading, and writing. But when the structure is clear and the materials are ready, they rise to the occasion. They perform better with routines, hands-on tools, and a space that suits their needs. When the classroom runs smoothly, they stay focused longer and engage in the lessons...and to school in general. These projects help create that kind of space—one that’s ready for real kids who need support, not just good intentions.
